Who We Are
PRINCIPAL / CONSULTANT
Jeff Null
FINANCE / OPERATIONS
Jeff earned his BS degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University and furthered his practical knowledge of finance and accounting in General Electric’s Financial Management Program and through the company’s Advanced Financial Management coursework. While with GE, he also had the opportunity to complete formal training in supplier management and negotiating skills and is trained as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Over a twelve year period, Jeff took on a variety of assignments throughout GE’s core operating businesses including Aerospace, Industrial Power Systems, GE Lighting and GE Capital. Key functional roles included Corporate FP&A, manufacturing finance, logistics, supplier management and process improvement. His tenure included two assignments in Europe. One with the global trailer leasing business in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he had fiduciary responsibility for $600 million in leased equipment and another in Budapest, Hungary, optimizing ROI on a $30 million capital expenditure plan for the then recently acquired state owned lighting manufacturer.
Upon returning from Europe, Jeff joined GE Financial Assurance, the high growth Insurance and Annuity business of GE Capital. Jeff led the planning & analysis component of a grass roots effort implementing Six Sigma process improvement methodology in the financial services arena. He went on to establish and own a process monitoring the actual performance of assets in force relative to the assumptions established during product development.
Jeff returned to the Pittsburgh area in 2002 with his wife and two young daughters. He joined American Dental Partners (acquired by Heartland Dental in 2021) and took over business operations responsibility for an eight facility dental group. During his ten years as Director, the group tripled operating margin, earned most improved affiliate distinction and became certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC). During his time at AMDPI, Jeff completed a 3-year leadership skill assessment and development program that focused on emotional intelligence and leadership style dynamics. From there he was recruited for the Chief Operating Officer role at a private Medicaid based dental group also in the Pittsburgh area. There, Jeff established annual operating plans and performance management infrastructure to support the group’s growth and an eventual sale. He was also successful in the turnaround and integration of three newly acquired offices that had been under-performing upon his arrival.
After twelve years in dental practice management, Jeff pivoted into the hospital surgery space as Regional Director for Synergy Health, a British sterilization services company. He led on-site consulting engagements with hospitals ranging from 3-month interim assignments to full outsourced multi-year contracts for the sterile processing of surgical instruments. When the company was sold to Steris, his responsibility shifted to off-site processing facilities that included reusable linen processing. He oversaw 350 production staff and $35M in revenue across five production facilities.
After Steris sold the linen processing business to Novo Healthcare, Jeff returned to the dental space on the supplier side with National Dentex as Regional Director for eight labs producing dental prosthesis for thousands of local providers across seven states and a mail-order business shipping nation-wide (375 production staff, $60M in revenue). There he navigated through the Covid shutdown and a major shift to off-shore production in Vietnam.
Jeff is now dedicated to the local business environment here in Pittsburgh. He is helping business owners to improve performance, build infrastructure needed to support sustained growth and maximize company value.
